Rules

todayis.lol is a public calendar with 366 days. You pay to hold a day. One day. One holder. Price is what you paid.

The days

There are 366 days, January 1 to December 31, including February 29. A day has one holder. A day never expires. Every holder stays in that day’s history.

How the price works

• New days are whole US dollars, $5 minimum, $999,999 maximum, $1 at a time.
• Taking a held day costs at least $5 more than the holder paid.
• Equal amounts keep their order: the earlier claim holds the day.
• Already hold a day? Use the edit link from your email to raise your amount. The new amount must be at least $1 above your own and at least $5 above anyone else’s claim on that day. Checkout charges only the difference. Nobody else can raise your listing.

When you go live

• A confirmed payment is what claims the day. Payments are not refundable.
• If nobody holds the day, you are shown immediately.
• If someone holds the day, your listing takes over at the next 00:00 UTC after your payment. Until then the current holder stays on the page and on the homepage, and the page shows your pending takeover. The holder can raise before midnight. Whoever has the highest amount at 00:00 UTC is shown.
• The homepage is always today, in UTC. Every page shows UTC and your local time.

What you can list

• A product website, or an X @handle. Every listing needs one.
• The name, line, and image shown on your day are read from that destination. You do not write them. The link’s query string is removed. Link shorteners are replaced by the address they point to. Chat and invite links are not allowed.
• Not allowed: sexual content; hate or harassment; impersonating a person or brand; illegal goods or services; scams; political campaigning.
• Not allowed: a private person’s photo or name without their consent.
• Not allowed: logos or images you do not have the rights to use.
• Not allowed: photos of minors.
• You must be 18 or older.

After you pay

• Your listing is public. Clicks go to the link you submitted, without query parameters, and are counted once per visitor per day.
• We review new listings daily. Listings that break these rules are removed without refund once shown; see Refunds. Anyone named on a day can ask for removal and gets it. Every page has a report link.
• Manipulating click counts, automated claims, or bypassing rate limits is a breach and ends your listing.

If the site shuts down

All 366 pages stay online as static pages for at least 12 months.
